Amsterdam 31.01.16 - 22.05.16

Mortal cinema is a cinema concept room invented by Clemence Seilles and Theo Demans, and developed for dutch artist Melanie Bonajo to presenting her last movie "Night Soil - Economy of Love" at the Eye film museum exhibition.
"Night Soil - Economy of Love", portrays a Brooklyn-based movement of female sex workers who regard their work as a way for women to reclaim power in a male-dominated pleasure zone (nominated at the International Film Festival or Roterdam IFFR).
Mortal Cinema engages a dialogue with a film director to develop dedicated cinema room in relation with a specific film or the general attitude and ideology of the director. Mortal Cinemas can be seen as a reverse, autonomous version of a film set.
